Cabal – A Brief Discussion on How Archers Approach PvP

The characteristics of archers as a class are well-known. Some may think that Archer PvP techniques are straightforward, and perhaps they are. However, I’ve been called a trash archer in the past, hehe. My light bow is level 120 with dual high upgrades, a full set of +5 Honor (basic attributes) weapons, and 2D Magic Dragon +5 (with a 5% chance). These are my most valuable possessions. I usually carry Judgment, Frenzy, and Magic +7 rings (switching as needed), along with a +2 Fayne necklace. Whether the equipment is good or not is apparent when you consider it. In terms of skills, I have Fatal +18 (50% chance, 95% damage), Distortion +1, Shadow +12, and Poison +18.

I believe archers’ opponents can be categorized as high defense (F high) and low defense (F low), melee, and ranged. When facing melee classes, for a fair fight, stand at a distance where both parties can hit each other, meaning stand beside them. Just for fairness, at the beginning of the PvP, you can use Sprint or Instant Step and immediately use a skill. If the opponent uses a high skill, use Shadow; if they sprint, use Fatal. Because Sprint can remove the effect of Shadow without knocking the opponent down. How you use the next skill depends on the effect of the first move. If the opponent falls, alternate between Fatal and Shadow. The cooldown time for skills is certainly achievable. If the opponent doesn’t fall, sprint toward them because they are coming toward you. This way, you can create distance again and continue with Shadow and Fatal. By the second time they fall, you’ll know who might be the winner. In other words, the skill of archer PvP isn’t just about how to cast skills but how to position yourself. Based on your judgment, find the best position, create the maximum distance from melee heroes, and give yourself more time to deal damage. Archers shouldn’t follow a predetermined skill sequence in each PvP encounter but should adapt on the fly, seizing opportunities to do what they should. Use the skills you should use at that moment. You might think this is a cliché, but just like wearing equipment, learning auras, and passive skills, everyone has their own thoughts. PvP is the same; everyone is different. The key is to grasp the essence of PvP. Each class has similarities in skills, so in PvP, focus on the effects of skills rather than just chasing damage. Archers in PvP not only rely on judgment but also need to react quickly because the essence of archers lies in speed. If your reaction is not fast enough, it’s challenging.

Against opponents with high defense (F high), replace Fatal with Poison Arrow for sustained damage over 10 seconds. The reason for not using Fatal is simple; F classes value the damage caused after breaking the defense for quick critical damage. However, it’s challenging to break the defense of high F classes, and even if successful, it’s challenging to deal high damage. Therefore, use Poison.

When facing ranged classes, there’s no specific initial position to take. Aim at them right away, especially Silk bows with lower defense under equivalent equipment (at least that’s what I do). Because a light bow relies on critical hits, and I use Star (reason for not using Crystal: because I am a light bow! Sacrificing 6 points of Critical Hit for Star’s extra accuracy and critical hit). Judging from the nature points, the direction of Silk and Light bows is different. Silk bows sacrifice critical hits for higher Gold points, while light bows need to rely on critical hits to compensate for low damage output. Therefore, how to allocate attributes still depends on later effects, and equipment can still make up for it. If you think that equipment is the key, there’s no way. After all, not many people can wear good equipment. So, truly having people with the same level and starting point as you is not very common. PvP is a fair thing; it’s up to you how you think about it. Winning by equipment, I think, doesn’t count for much. When fighting against another light bow of the same level, you have to see how to release skills to have an effect. With a knockdown effect, you might win. As for how to fight Wizards, I’m still studying. I think Archer’s Hawkeye + Star Bow is something Wizards don’t have, so we have two more distances than Wizards. The release speed just compensates for the low damage output of the bow. It’s essential to make good use of these two extra distances. Even though Wizards can chase cars, Blink + Sprint still takes time. We can take the opportunity to hit them a bit. Hehe, hit and then Blink.

Many people think archers are good at running, causing headaches for others, but there’s nothing we can do. We really can’t withstand classes with high Gold points like Force Blader and Force Shielder. From a personal perspective, you have no reason to let us tank and fight you. But melee classes can chain Sprint. If they sprint continuously, they can immediately catch up with an archer and then go directly to Force Shielder. Isn’t that refreshing? As for whether archers should chain skills, I personally think that chaining to the opponent’s death is not necessary; it’s just a small trick in PvP. If everyone chains skills, PvP will be too monotonous; might as well go and fight bosses. Chaining skills is not the goal; the most proud thing is how to win a victory honorably.
